
Leisure airline, Jet2.com has announced the opening of a new engineering hangar at Manchester Airport to support the company’s operations and future growth.
The opening follows the demolition of a previous facility on the site, followed by a full multi-million pound rebuild. TSL was the technical construction partner for the airline on the project.
The new facility, adjacent to Jet2.com’s existing hangar at Manchester Airport, covers 6,300 sq m. The hangar will allow engineering and maintenance teams to work on up to three aircraft at the same time, and a total of six across the two units. The hangar also features an Apprentice Training suite comprising of workshops and classrooms for the airline’s more than 30 apprentices.
In line with its Sustainability Strategy, Jet2.com has also fitted solar panels to the roof of the new hangar.
