A dedicated 8-year-old Stockport boy, Reece, has committed to run 2 km every day throughout the month of October to raise money for The Wellspring, a local charity supporting people who are homeless or at risk of losing their homes.
It was on a rainy day in Stockport that Reece was saddened to see people struggling on the streets and said, “It’s not fair that some people don’t have a nice warm home to live in.”
Determined to make a difference, Reece decided to act and throughout October, Reece, accompanied by his mum or dad, is running 2 km every single day to raise money for The Wellspring – a vital lifeline for those facing homelessness. They’re more than a support service; they are a dedicated team offering practical resources, compassionate support, and tailored guidance to help individuals rebuild their lives.
Reece’s compassion and determination have inspired everyone at The Wellspring. Said Janet Parish, Business and Community Liaison at The Wellspring:
“Reece is an absolute inspiration. At just eight years old, he’s showing such kindness, empathy, and commitment to helping others. His efforts will make a real difference to the lives of people in our community who are struggling. We couldn’t be more proud of him.”
Reece is hoping the local community will get behind him to help raise vital funds for The Wellspring’s life-changing work with the homeless in Stockport. You can support Reece’s incredible challenge by donating via his JustGiving page. Every kilometre Reece runs helps someone in Stockport take a step closer to a brighter future.
