To protect the nation from the rapidly spreading Omicron Covid-19 variant, the government has set a target of 500,000 booster vaccinations per day, plus first and second doses, to ensure all eligible adults in England have had a third dose by the end of December.
The Government has once again called on primary care (GP) services to prioritise the delivery of the vaccine, advising family doctors to postpone some of their other non-urgent cases such as certain routine medical appointments, including those with musculoskeletal (MSK) health concerns.
Musculoskeletal conditions have a huge impact on health, in some cases resulting in a substantial reduction in quality of life, conditions that make up around 33% of GP consultations. 40% of MSK sufferers see their GP as the main person that supports them with musculoskeletal conditions (source).
Freehab provides a unique service to MSK patients where injury and rehabilitation advice has no fees: Freehab patients choose if and how much they pay!
Ollie Coburn, MD of Freehab, explains:
“Regardless of fees or ability to pay, we always provide high-quality advice, support and rehab for injuries, aches and pains, without any financial barriers. There are no expectations from us regarding the voluntary contribution, as we believe everybody should be able to access services like ours, regardless of their circumstance.
“If you’re on an NHS waiting list or trying to make a new appointment to see your GP, Freehab is the ideal, affordable alternative.
“We believe everyone should have the freedom to move, to exercise, to stay fit and healthy, for free. As we all become more aware of the value of looking after our mental health through being active and outdoors, the freedom of movement is becoming essential and invaluable.
“We don’t just take away aches and pains, we take away financial barriers!”
Freehab deal with conditions of the muscles, joints, bones, ligaments, nerves and spine (musculoskeletal conditions) in both adults and children. Consultations are carried out by video call, eradicating waiting times; advanced software is used to prescribe and manage personalised rehabilitation programmes.
