FI Real Estate Management Limited (FIREM) has updated its proposal and is seeking further feedback on plans for employment land adjacent to Ashton Road, Bredbury Park Way, Stockport.
Following last years’ pre-application public consultation, the draft plans have been updated to include a new community hub, allotments and skills & learning space which can be used by the local community. Further highways assessments and work has been undertaken, proposals have been amended to link-up public rights of way through the site, and landscaping and green spaces plans have been enhanced.
In addition, a designated car parking area has been created for users of Stockport Sports Village which will alleviate traffic issues in the nearby Woodley area. Buildings will also be moved away from Castle Hill Residential Park and an enhanced green buffer is proposed, in response to neighbour feedback.
The proposed development will offer a fuller range of building sizes for regional headquarters and for local business looking for more modern and energy efficient premises.
FIREM are aiming to complement the existing offer at adjacent Bredbury Park Industrial Estate and meet identified local need for modern employment space. This is expected to generate a significant number of new local jobs both in construction and once operational it is estimated that nearly 1,000 full time jobs will be created.
Ecological mitigation measures have been developed for land adjacent to the site which will be kept free from development and will meet biodiversity enhancement requirements. Residents and workers will be able to enjoy this area through the existing public footpath network.
FI Real Estate Management will be hosting an update and information event for residents to hear more about the proposals ahead of planning submission. The event will take place on Friday 11th July 2025 (3pm-7pm) at the Arthur Greenwood Centre in Bredbury.
Tim Knowles, Founder and Managing Director of FI Real Estate Management, said:
“Feedback from residents and stakeholders has been carefully considered following our public consultation last year. Several key updates and improvements have taken place to the scheme including on design, developing our case for local and regional need, further highways work, and on landscaping.
“We have also considered how we can deliver community benefits as part of this development including linking up key public rights of way and help ease local road pressures at Stockport Sports Village via new on-site parking. We have also enhanced the green buffer and moved development further away from nearby residents on Castle Hill in response to feedback.
“We are holding a local update and information event following our consultation and look forward to continuing discussions as we bring forward a planning application.”
Further details on the scheme are available from a dedicated consultation website. FIREM is working towards a planning submission later this year.
