The Council has made the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers list compiled by the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS).
The prestigious Top 100 list recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices. The Council also recently won a much sought after award from the NAS for being an exemplar employer of apprentices.
The Council showed its commitment to developing young people’s skills through nearly 200 apprenticeships gaining the Regional Apprenticeship Award for Macro Employer of the Year.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Achievement, said: “A key Council priority is providing employment opportunities for young people within the organisation. This is clearly reflected by the Council making the Top 100 Apprenticeship Employers in the country.
“The Council recognises the extremely positive impact apprenticeships can have on an organisation and is committed to developing the skills of these young people.”
