Housebuilder, Miller Homes, has begun engaging with the local community as it draws up plans for a development of new homes in Woodford.
Leaflets have been delivered to local residents and key stakeholders this week, outlining initial plans for the site, and inviting feedback as part of a wider pre-application consultation. The development is expected to include a mix of around 125 private and affordable homes on a plot between Moor Lane and the A555 Manchester Airport Link Road.
The proposals are still at a formative stage, with Miller Homes set to submit a planning application to Stockport Council later this year. The emerging plans aim to deliver a high-quality and sustainable scheme that would complement the character of Woodford and bring benefits to the local community.
Peter Carus, Senior Strategic Planning Manager at Miller Homes, said:
“Miller Homes is delighted to be developing proposals for much needed new homes in Woodford, Stockport. Miller Homes’ proposals are part of an evolving process, and we look forward to developing these in the coming weeks.”
He added:
“The development would deliver homes which would help Stockport Council meet its housing needs and bring benefits to Woodford, including a mix of private and affordable homes, ensuring that those who wish to live and work in the area are able to do so.”
Miller Homes’ plans are part of a pipeline of approximately 1,500 new homes proposed for Woodford, including expansion of the Woodford Garden Village, and other schemes along the A555.
