Stockport businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact are invited to join the Climate Action Business Forum for a morning of networking and insights at its March event.
The upcoming session will take place at Regent House in Stockport town centre on Thursday 12th March from 8.30am, and promises breakfast networking, industry insights and a practical panel on how building upgrades cut energy costs for leased and owned buildings.
Attendees will hear from expert speakers and local local business voices, covering building improvements, retrofitting, and sharing information about the support and resources available to help you start taking action and save money on energy bills. Discussion will explore practical improvements for different types of properties, including older and listed buildings, whether you own or lease them. Speakers will include:
- Rhys Owen, Orbit Developments,
- Phil Marples, musicMagpie
- Naomi Kelsall, Kelsall Architects
- Cathy Barlow, Smith Goodfellow
- Alasdair Dalzel-Job, Green Economy
The session will also cover support and resources available from Green Economy. There will also be time to network, share experiences and hear how other local organisations are getting started.
The Climate Action Business Forum event is free to attend, and places can be booked via Eventbrite, and is open to start-ups, SMEs and larger organisations.
If you can, help reduce the climate impact of the event by walking, cycling, getting public transport or car sharing. Regent House is a 10 minute walk from Stockport train station or a 5-10 minute walk from Stockport Interchange.
The Climate Action Business Forum aims to support Stockport-based businesses on their journey to achieving net zero. It aims to take businesses beyond the initial stage of understanding climate change, towards actively addressing and implementing change within their organisations. The forum is open to all businesses, and sectors, creating an opportunity for those that are interested in making a difference to share best practice and access support from organisations such as the Green Economy, Business Growth Hub and the Carbon Literacy Project.
