Cityheart, the developer behind Stockport’s Interchange and Stopford Park housing schemes has been named Urban and City Living Developer of the Year.
The team won the accolade last week at the tenth annual North West Business Insider Residential Property Awards. They were also shortlisted in the Best Build to Rent category for Interchange. The judges commented that Cityheart’s schemes in towns like Stockport and Wigan are “making their mark and paying dividends for the towns.”
The event which was held at Manchester Central, showcases the people, businesses and organisations which have designed, developed, funded, built and managed homes and communities right across the North West.
Commenting on receiving the prestigious award Cityheart COO Warren Taylor said:
“The successful delivery of Stockport Interchange closely followed by the launch of Stopford Park were the highlight last year for the Cityheart team, setting a new benchmark for quality and town centre living. We’re incredibly proud that this standard of transformational development has been recognised by the judges amongst some very strong competition.
“The Interchange project has left a lasting legacy for the community, in addition to kickstarting the regeneration of the town, it has helped in the Stockport’s transformation as ‘the best place to live in the North’ and we’re delighted that this has been recognised by the judges.”
The project which includes 196 homes, a transport interchange, park, and cycle way was one of the first placemaking schemes for Stockport MDC, a project that has since anchored other regeneration and placemaking schemes. The development (pictured) was over 70% full let within three months of launching and its development has built strong relationships with Stockport Council and GMCA.
The 442-apartment Stopford Park scheme on Greek Street and Wellington Road is well underway and delivering Cityheart’s vision to create a new neighbourhood community and landscaped public realm in the heart of the town. Designed by Shiela Bird Studios the first of three residential buildings, Bosden is being built by Oak Construction Projects and homes will be available to reserve off plan this coming Spring.
