Staff at a town centre jewellers have proved total gems.
They pitched for a share in a pot of charity gold for Seashell Trust’s all-weather games area.
Beaverbrooks donates 20 per cent of its profit each year to good causes. Each store nominates a local charity.
Joanne Fitton, supervisor at Beaverbrooks’ Stockport branch, said: “The more profit we make the more money we can give away to good causes.”
Staff chose Seashell Trust after its work was highlighted by the Stockport Business Awards.
Joanne and sales assistant Parys McLean visited pupils at Chadderton House, one of the charity’s residential homes, to tell them £360 would go to the Pitch In appeal.
Wendy Bray, Seashell Trust community and events fundraiser, said: “We are so grateful to Beaverbrooks. They are very keen to get involved with us in lots of ways now.”
Joanne added: “The staff are planning to do voluntary work at the trust very soon and some more fundraising in the new year.”
