Romiley based NK Theatre Arts has had an early Christmas present, thanks to Allied Bakeries.
Allied Bakeries, producers of leading brand Kingsmill, have once again agreed to support local community charity, NK Theatre Arts.
Carl Hampson (Pennine Region General Manager) of Allied Bakeries plant based in Bredbury, has renewed the company’s membership to the NK Theatre Arts 1000 club. In addition, they have agreed to sponsor a production of NK’s internet danger play “ The Net”.
“The Net” is a live dramatisation put on in schools to demonstrate the dangers that lurk online. It is about keeping children safe when using social media sites. ‘The Net’ is written, produced by and stars the cast members of NK Theatre Arts.
Allied Bakeries employees will be invited to vote for a school of their choice.
Carl said “ We like to support NK because it’s the right thing to do! We at Allied Bakeries think NK Theatre Arts do a fantastic job with all those kids, very inspirational “
Darren Stannage Theatre Manager of NKTA said “ We are grateful for the tremendous support we have received from Carl and Allied bakeries over the past 2 years. As a charity we don’t receive any statutory funding therefore sponsorship, to help run the theatre and our outreach programme in schools, is vital for the future of NKTA”
