Ahead of National Careers Week from 7th to 12th March, Stockport Jobs Match is calling for businesses in Stockport to advocate for the career opportunities in their industry.
The free service, which matches job opportunities with people looking for working in the borough, is looking for local businesses to ‘sponsor’ a sector themed page on the Stockport Jobs Match Careers Hub, a new resource for schools and colleges being launched during National Careers Week. The employer will also feature within a Digital Careers Prospectus for Stockport.
The new Careers Hub will contain sector guides, LMI data, employer videos and career stories. Together with a range of lesson plans, individual and group activities for students, free downloads and activity packs, there’s plenty for local teachers, careers advisors and individuals to take advantage of.
The hub will be launched alongside a Live Webinar on Wednesday 16th March for careers advisors as part of a suite of National Careers Week events planned by the Stockport Jobs Match team.
The Stockport Jobs Match Digital Careers Prospectus will be distributed to local schools, colleges, job centres, training providers and employment support partners. This guide will help jobseekers understand what employers are looking for, now and in the future, key areas of economic growth in Stockport borough, as well as what jobs are available and what they actually do.
Employers can be featured free-of-charge on each sector page to highlight the diversity of careers available in different industries. Businesses will need to share their logo, a quote about the importance of skills and future careers in their sector, as well as any corporate videos or company information they would like to add to the careers hub.
