Stockport electrical wholesaler, LED, has strengthened its presence across Greater Manchester with the acquisition of Oldham-based Wholesale Electrical Factors (WEF).
Twenty 15 Capital, the parent company behind the 40-year-old Stockport business, has rebranded WEF as LED, and making the Oldham site the company’s second branch.
As well as growing the firm’s geographic reach, the deal aims to enhance customer experience through a wider product range, improved pricing, and more efficient service. Both LED locations will benefit from shared stock holding and a combined depth of industry knowledge and will allow the two branches to support one another more effectively, and offer greater value to customers.
Following the merger, the Oldham site has undergone a complete makeover of its shop front, which now features a larger customer area with an updated coffee machine and brand-new displays showcasing Portwest Workwear/PPE and electrical testing products from TIS (Test Instrument Solutions). The branch will also open 30 minutes earlier a 7.30am in response to customer demand, allowing tradespeople to pick up goods before starting their day.
Established in Offerton in 1984 and now based in Hazel Grove, LED is an independent, electrical wholesaler and distributor supplying some of the largest businesses in the Northwest and beyond.
