19 daring volunteers from Visyon mental health charity and SAS Daniels solicitors, based on Greek Street in Stockport, braved the lofty heights of Stopford House in Stockport town centre, to complete an abseil challenge.
The plucky volunteers put away any fear of heights or vertigo, in order to descend 26 metres or 85 feet, to raise money for the charity that helps over a thousand children and their families to deal with issues such as bullying, bereavement, anxiety and depression.

Volunteers from SAS Daniels and Visyon abseilled down Stockport’s Stopford House for charity
The Visyon charity teamed up with SAS Daniels after staff at SAS Daniels voted them to be their charity of the year and pledged to support them with fundraising activities.
Katie Hodson, an Associate in the Employment and HR team from SAS Daniels, who organised the event, commented
When a child or young person experiences challenges, this often affects the whole family. We were really impressed with the range of services that Visyon provides – not only counselling and activities but wellbeing groups for families and support for parents and teachers. Young people in the prime of their lives who are struggling with life’s issues should not be forgotten”
Sandi Marshall, Business Development Manager, from Visyon commented
We are really pleased that SAS Daniels’ pledged to raise funds for Visyon in this unusual way. Many of the extremely nervous volunteers were genuinely frightened of being up in high places. They faced their fears, in similarity with many of our young people, and we thank them for raising much needed funds for Visyon”.
The volunteers aimed to raise up to £2000 worth of sponsorship monies through an online donation page and have exceeded their target to raise over £2810 altogether.

SAS Daniels’ and Visyon would like to thank Stockport City Council for letting them use Stopford House and would also like to thank ‘Rope Race’, the company who supervised and provided the abseiling equipment. http://www.roperace.com/.
