Stockport mutual, Vernon Building Society will host Vernon in the Park, a free family fun day as it continues the celebrations of its 100th birthday in 2024.
Vernon in the Park will take place on Saturday 18th May from 12-4pm at Vernon Park, Offerton and is being hosted in partnership with Pure Innovations, a Stockport charity supporting people with a disability into employment.
Families can enjoy free face painting throughout the day, as well as a range of arts and crafts including making bears from paper plates, jewellery making with beads, and decorating ceramic bears. There will also be an opportunity to meet our mascot, Vernon Bear, who has organised a special ‘bear hunt’ around the park, with prizes to be won for anyone that finds all the hidden bears around the park!
Live music will be provided by our Vernon Building Society (Poynton) Brass Band, and there will be several stall holders around the park, such as Mentell.org and Stockport Fostering as well as others, with a variety of activities to take part in. The Pure Innovations café in the park will also be open as usual throughout the day for any other refreshments.
The event is free to anybody who wants to attend, so The Vernon is encouraging everyone to bring along their loved ones and help celebrate the building society’s centenary with a day of entertainment for the whole family.
