A new partnership with Vernon Building Society will see the Stockport mutual become the Official Savings Partner of the Stockport County Community Trust for the 2026/27 season.
Through the agreement, the Vernon will provide support that helps the Trust continue delivering programmes and activities throughout the borough. New fully-branded vehicles will be used throughout the year to support the Trust’s sport, education, health, and inclusion programmes across the borough such as the Kits by County campaign with local schools.
Vernon Building Society will also provide financial education resources and workbooks that will be used within community programmes delivered by the Trust to help young people develop their financial literacy and money management. Both organisations will also work to create opportunities for the building society’s colleagues to get involved in volunteering opportunities within the Trust.
Alison Warwood, CEO of Stockport County Community Trust, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Vernon Building Society as our Official Savings Partner. As a proud Stockport-based organisation, the Vernon shares our commitment to supporting local communities and creating positive opportunities for people of all ages. Their sponsorship will help provide us with a number of vehicles, to help transport Trust staff to a wide variety of programmes, ensuring our team can continue to work with thousands of participants across the borough each year. We look forward to building a strong and meaningful partnership together.”
Darren Ditchburn, CEO of Vernon Building Society, said:
“As a Stockport-based building society with a proud local history, we’re delighted to support Stockport County Community Trust and the fantastic work they do across our borough. Football has a special way of bringing people together, and this partnership gives us a brilliant opportunity to help the Trust continue making a positive difference through sport, education, health and inclusion.
“By supporting the Trust’s community programmes, sharing financial education resources and playing our part in ensuring the Kits by County programme reaches local schools, we hope to help even more local people build confidence and thrive. We’re looking forward to working closely with the Trust over the season ahead.”
