Organisations working with unemployed young people, aged 16 to 25, are being invited to bring them to a taster session being run by the Princes’ Trust and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) at Whitehill Fire Station in Stockport.
The two-hour open event will to offer an introduction to a 12 week personal development course for young people being offered by the Princes Trust and GMFRS. The event takes place on Monday 23rd January from 1pm to 3pm at Whitehill Community Fire Station, Whitehill St West, Stockport, SK4 1NR.
There will be a small presentation about the team and what participants can expect. Young people will have the opportunity to meet the staff, ask any questions they may have. There will also be a sample of the games and icebreakers that form part of the course, and those who wish can fill out the application for the 12 week personal development programme on the day.
The full course, which begins on 30th January, involves a series of challenges designed to improve employability, such as a Community Project, Team Challenge and a team building residential. Participants will also complete a two-week work placement and training exercises with the Fire Fighters. Further courses are also set to run starting May and September 2023.
