Regional rail operator, TransPennine Express (TPE), has announced services will run all night to and from Manchester Airport as part of train timetable changes taking effect in May 2026.
The addition of eight new services will mean that there will be a train roughly every hour between Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Airport all day, every day. The move is aimed at improving connectivity for passengers flying in and out of the UK’s third?busiest airport either early in the morning or late at night.
Beyond Greater Manchester, TPE will operate additional services to Edinburgh for a month over the summer during the Fringe Festival alongside its usual timetable to support those travelling to or returning from a show in the city.
Andrew McClements, Customer Experience & Transformation Director at TPE, said:
“Although most of our services are unchanged, we encourage customers to take a moment to check any journeys they make regularly.
“We’re pleased to be introducing services that give customers more choice, added flexibility, and an improved overall experience when travelling with us.”
Alongside the rest of the rail industry, the train operator will introduce a new timetable from Sunday 17 May. Elsewhere on the rail network, Northern services in the North West will also see some amendments to timings of trains aimed at addressing punctuality issues.
Rail passengers are advised to check their journeys in advance using rail operator apps or the National Rail Enquiries journey planner.
