Tesco is now stocking several Kingsmill products made by Allied Bakeries nine months after they were taken off the shelves.
Some lines were delisted in March although Tesco continued to stock other Kingsmill goods such as wraps, crumpets and waffles, along with Allinson and Burgen bread produced by Allied Bakeries which has a plant in Bredbury.
Now nine core lines will be stocked in Tesco stores, including Kingsmill Soft White Medium 800g and Tasty Wholemeal Bread 400g.
The Kingsmill 50/50 and No Crusts were relisted in most stores back in July.
An Allied Bakeries spokesperson said: “We’re delighted to be re-listed in Tesco. We have increased volume across all our production sites, including at Stockport.
“Customers and consumers are seeing the benefits of our £210m, five-year capital investment programme – market-leading innovation, one of the most varied UK bakery product portfolios and consistently high-quality products, including the manufacture of customer-branded products.”
Allied Bakeries is Kingsmill’s parent company.
A Tesco spokesperson said: “We continually review our ranges to deliver the best possible shopping experience for customers.
“These changes will ensure we continue to offer great availability on a fantastic choice of products, at affordable prices.”
