Stockport based taxi technology firm, Autocab, has announced that it will supply its taxi technology to black cab operator CityFleet.
The announcement will see CityFleet’s taxis using the Stockport firm’s booking and dispatch technology and passenger app across London, as well as in Liverpool and Aberdeen.
Cityfleet’s corporate customers will also benefit from a next-generation booking technology and add the company’s fleet to the iGo network, which allows users to book a taxi from any firm in the network, while using the branded app of their local taxi company. The network includes around 150,000 cars across Europe.
Rudy Tan, CityFleet Chief Executive, said:
We are really pleased to be working with Autocab and bringing our fleet onto the iGo network.
“This agreement will enhance the service we provide to our corporate clients, which include some of the largest banking brands in the world, and ensure passengers are receiving a speedy, safe and friendly service nationwide and across Europe.”
Safa Alkateb, Autocab chief executive, said:
Black cabs remain a key part of the transport network in UK urban areas.
“Their local knowledge is second to none – they know our roads and streets inside out.
“As it becomes more difficult for ordinary vehicles to gain access to the heart of the city centre due to regulatory controls around congestion and emissions, the black cab is becoming an ever-more important element in the mosaic of urban ground transport.”
CityFleet is part of the Singapore-based transport company ComfortDelGro, which operates in the UK under the CityFleet, ComCab and DialaCab brands.
