The Tatton Estate has expanded its commercial property portfolio with the acquisition of Great Portwood Street, an 18,458 sq ft retail warehouse investment in Stockport town centre.
The two-unit scheme is currently occupied by B&M and Dreams on a site on Great Portwood Street, adjacent to the larger Stockport Retail Park (formerly The Peel Centre).
While the Tatton Estate is best known for its heritage buildings and Cheshire parkland, this Stockport acquisition is the latest addition to a growing commercial property portfolio in the region, which helps to support continued investment in the places, businesses and landscape elsewhere in the estate.
Pete Crowther, Chief Executive Officer of Tatton Estate, said:
“Commercial property has always been an important part of the Tatton Estate and acquisitions like Great Portwood Street are part of our long-term investment strategy.
“By continuing to build a strong and resilient portfolio, we’re creating the financial strength that enables us to invest across the Estate, supporting our villages, heritage buildings, farming businesses, environmental projects and the communities we serve.”
Tatton Estate’s Asset Management Director, Daniel Bourne, added:
“We’re delighted to welcome B&M and Dreams to the Tatton Estate community. We see the businesses within our portfolio as valued customers and we’re looking forward to building strong, lasting relationships with both organisations.
“Great Portwood Street is an excellent strategic addition to the portfolio. We’d also like to thank Savills and Mills & Reeve for their professionalism and support throughout the acquisition process.”
