Supportability accepts donation of new minibus

Stockport-based charity, Supportability, has accepted a brand new specialist minibus that has been donated by Bolton-based construction and utilities company, Bethell Group.

Supportability is a Stockport-based charity that provides person-centred support to children, young people and adults with a wide range of complex learning and physical disabilities. The charity has been rooted in the Stockport community since 1953 and their mission is to stand alongside the people they support, providing them with the essential skills, opportunities and confidence to participate as they would choose to do so.

The new minibus, a 14-seater Peugeot that has been specially adapted with an electric chair lift for wheelchair users, will enable Supportability’s clients to have equal access to opportunities. The minibus was supplied by CVM World.

Chris Morley, Finance Director at Bethell Group, said:

“Bethell proudly sponsored Supportability’s Golf Day in 2025, which aimed to raise funds for the purchase of a new minibus. However, we knew it would take the charity a few years to raise the amount they needed for the vehicle and that we should offer additional funding support.” 

Michael Holmes, Managing Director at Bethell Construction, added:

“The board of directors at Bethell therefore agreed to fund the donation of a minibus and extensively researched the most suitable supplier and vehicle to meet the charity’s requirements. As we operate our own in-house fleet, our experienced transport department was able to source a suitable and budget-effective solution.”
