Young professionals in the borough are invited to join Future Stockport at STOK for networking, breakfast and discussion on mindfulness lead by Stockport Mind.
For those of us who still work in school-time, September is the start of the new year and getting back into the rhythm can be a challenge. Led by Lisa Bracewell, the session will explore ways professionals can stay resilient and prevent burnout in today’s ever increasing stressful world. The session on 12th September will begin by looking at the benefits of Mindfulness to support wellbeing and mental health and how it can help to increase engagement, satisfaction and performance in our lives and the work environment.
Guests will then get a taste of Mindfulness through a combination of a small guided meditation session and some hints and tips on practical applications for everyday life in the workplace.
There will also be an exciting opportunity to win a Refurbished Apple Watch, Nike+ Series 5 with GPS, with all proceeds going towards Stockport and District Mind.
The morning’s agenda will include:
- 8.30am – Guests to arrive for breakfast, supplied by Stok, and networking opportunities
- 9.15am – Lisa Bracewell from Stockport Mind will begin her session – Well being in the Workplace
- 10am – Guests to remain seated for a guided meditation.
- 10.15am – Networking and Departure.
Stockport and District Mind are an independent mental health charity that offers friendly, accessible support and information to promote mental health and well being in the Stockport and adjacent area. Although the event is free to attend, organisers would appreciate any support you can give to the charity, and, if possible, please make a small donation to Stockport Mind as a contribution for attendance at the event, using this link and the reference ‘Future Stockport Event’.
