Stockport Engineering Training Association (SETA), one of the leading engineering training providers in the North West, will be opening its doors to the community on Tuesday 4th of March to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week.
In SETA’s bid to raise awareness of engineering and the apprenticeship route to the community SETA has invited over 40 schools, local employers and MP’s to its all-day event. The Mayor of Stockport will be supporting the event along with local employers including Jacobs Engineering and HellermanTyton.
The day will be a great chance for members of the community to drop in and see the Learning Skills Academy and talk with current apprentices to find out more about apprenticeships and engineering.
The event will be held at SETA’s Skills and Learning Academy in South Reddish, Stockport from 9am – 8pm. The Open Day will be a casual drop-in event and will give visitors the chance to have a tour of the centre and talk with the SETA team about engineering training and apprenticeships; the event will also be an excellent chance for local businesses and employers to meet with Management and SETA CEO Russell Prince.
The event is part of the seventh annual National Apprenticeship Week will taking place from 3-7 March 2014, with hundreds of events expected to take place across England. The Week, which is co-ordinated by the National Apprenticeship Service, is designed to celebrate Apprenticeships and the positive impact they have on individuals, businesses and the economy.
Cameron Fox, SETA apprentice, 16 comments about the event:
“The Open Day will be a good chance to get younger students involved and to find out about engineering. Coming and speaking to apprentices is the best way of finding out what is it like to be an apprentice and whether it is the right route for you.”
