Stockport solicitors champion family businesses with award sponsorship

Stockport based solicitors, Gorvins, have announced their sponsorship of the North and Northern Ireland category in Family Business United’s Family Business of the Year Awards 2021.

The annual awards recognise the contribution of family firms across the UK and draw entries from across the county in categories pertaining to sector, region and overall national recognition.

Paul Andrews, Founder and CEO of Family Business United, explained the importance of the awards and of family-run businesses in the UK economy. He said:

Having worked within the family business sector for over twenty years, we created these awards to recognise the contribution that family firms make to the national economy and to celebrate the jobs provided, income generated and wealth created by the sector.  There are over 6 million family firms in the UK and they continue to make a difference each and every day.  The past year has not been an easy one but family firms have stepped up, supported the communities in which they operate and found new ways of working.  They have shown their resilience and determination to survive and been innovative in their ways of working.  Our finalists all have a story to tell and deserve their moment to shine.  Family firms are the engine room of the UK economy and we are proud to champion them, many  of whom have been around for generations.  These awards will be even more special this year as they celebrate the endeavours and achievements of businesses that have fought long and hard over the past year, endeavours that deserve to be recognised.”
