
The team at the Stockport distribution centre of magazine and newspaper wholesaler, Smiths News, is celebrating after being awarded an industry leading gold standard award for health and safety by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for a third year.

Presented at an awards ceremony held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, the distribution centre retained its Gold RoSPA Health and Safety Award in recognition of its efforts towards improving health and safety standards in the workplace through education and new technologies.
Commenting on the centre’s success, Jonathan Bunting, CEO for Smiths News, said:
“A RoSPA Award is a well-recognised accolade that highlights a company’s efforts towards promoting workplace safety. Health and safety is something we take very seriously and the fact that the Smiths NewsStockport team has managed to retain the gold award for a third consecutive year is a testament to that. A massive congratulations to the whole Stockport team for all their efforts and their ongoing commitment to keeping staff safe.”
Based on Lingard Lane, at the Bredbury Park Industrial Estate, the Stockport Smiths News depot distributes newspapers and magazines to retailers across the region.
