Stockport SMEs invited to join Ignite Alliance growth programme

Ambitious SMEs across the borough are being invited to express interest in joining the second cohort of the Stockport Ignite Alliance, delivered by Trafford & Stockport College Group.

Building on the success of the first cohort, the programme combines expert-led masterclasses, peer learning and business support to help leaders strengthen strategy, drive innovation and unlock sustainable growth.

The Stockport Ignite Alliance creates a trusted environment where business leaders can step away from day-to-day pressures, challenge their thinking, explore opportunities and gain fresh perspectives from both expert speakers and fellow business owners.

Beginning in September 2026, participants will benefit from:

• Six expert-led masterclasses
• Access to leading speakers and business experts
• Peer learning alongside fellow Stockport business leaders
• Dedicated time to focus on the future of the business
• Business Innovation 1:1 Sessions with Leah Coyle, Employer Partnerships Lead, Trafford & Stockport College Group
• Membership of a growing leadership community

The programme is fully funded by the UK Government via Stockport Council’s Economic Development and Regeneration Flexible Grant (EDRFG) and delivered by Trafford & Stockport College Group.

The Stockport Ignite Alliance is Stockport-first and Stockport-led and designed specifically for SME founders, owners and senior leaders in the borough. The programme is also supported by the Stockport Economic Alliance, which brings together business, education and local partners around a shared ambition for growth.
