The final phase of the cable installation work at Bramhall Moor Lane from the junction with Newby Road to the junction with Grenville Road will be carried out over the Easter Weekend.
The work is being carried out by Electricity North West and temporary three way traffic signals will be in use.
Below is a list of the latest roadworks in Stockport:
- Temporary traffic signals are in place to allow work to be undertaken on the A6, Wellington Road South in connection with the Grand Central Development. This stage of the work began on Thursday 28th March whilst the permanent signals are altered and single lanes will be running both north and south bound on the A6. There will be no work over the Easter weekend but work will begin again on
Tuesday 2nd April for the following week to allow for the removal of the central reservations and islands between Railway Road and Exchange Street junctions. This will again require single lane running in either direction throughout the week. - There will be temporary traffic management measures in place on the inside south bound lane of the A34 from 2nd April to allow the National Grid to carry out work. Restrictions will include the prohibition of the left turn from the A34 into Gatley Road towards Cheadle, with a diversion signed via Broadway and Wilmslow Road. Traffic heading east across the junction on the A560 will be maintained. It is expected that the works will be completed by 8th April.
- United Utilities are working on the water mains at the junction of George Lane/ Berrycroft/Barrack Hill /School Brow. The works require the junction signals to be decommissioned and temporary four way lights will be in place for the duration of the repair work.
- Tiviot Way will be closed over the Easter weekend from Good Friday to Easter Monday between the Lancashire Hill Roundabout and the Water Street entrance to Tesco. This is to allow contractors working on behalf of the Council to replace the parapet barriers on the Penny Lane overbridge.
