
BetterOff recently celebrated their 1 year launch of their Benefits and Jobs website. The purpose of BetterOff website is a portal for advice claiming Benefits, with options to calculate personal entitlement, seek online assistance to complete and submit application forms. The site allows users to complete the applications at their own pace and track the progress.
Councillor David Sedgwick, Executive Member for Reform and Governance at Stockport Council commented “I’m really pleased to see so many Stockport residents benefitting from the BetterOff website.”
Over 4,000 BetterOff accounts
Currently the BetterOff website has been viewed around 47, 000 times with over 4,000 accounts being created and entitlements to over £11 million of benefits have been calculated for Stockport residents.
Sedgwick also remarked;
“Stockport Council recognises that most people want to access services online and this website demonstrates that if we supply the right digital tools, residents are quick to make good use of them.”
BetterOff also offers numerous ways for Stockport residents to improve their job opportunities with advice on applying for jobs, a database to find jobs of interest and a real time Journal that records the search activity in a form that is accepted by the Universal Credit by Job Centre Plus. Online aid for preparing for interviews and jobs as well as CV advice can all be found in one easy to navigate system.
BetterOff is available on computers, smartphones and other portable devices to provide users with everything they need to submit their applications anywhere, anytime.
BetterOff have even addressed Stockport residents concerns over having no access to the internet or a lack of computer confidence, with staff available during working hours in the week to assist at the Fred Perry House and Stockport Libraries can demonstrate the best use of the website.
