The Alma Lodge Hotel on Buxton Road, Stockport, has been sold for an undisclosed sum following a confidential sales process, property consultants Christie & Co have confirmed.
The Stockport hotel has been acquired by Corner Stone MCR Property Group, which has an expanding property development and investment presence across the UK across residential and commercial development, long-term property investment, petroleum businesses throughout the UK, and nursery operations.
The 52-bedroom hotel is also home to home to Henderson’s restaurant as well as extensive function and event facilities, including five meeting rooms with a maximum capacity of 250, and regularly hosts weddings and private gatherings.
The buyers highlighted the Alma Lodge Hotel’s excellent location and established reputation in supporting their decision to take on the hotel as part of the firm’s an expansion into the hospitality sector.
Faisal Karim, Director of Corner Stone MCR Property Group, commented:
“This purchase is viewed not as a short-term venture, but as a long-term commitment to building something enduring and community focused. Our vision is to revitalise Alma Lodge through an elegant and considered rebrand, enhancing the guest experience while preserving its traditional character and identity. We aim to make Alma Lodge a central hub, welcoming professionals, families, corporate guests, and the wider community.”
The hotel’s former owners, the Ndu brothers, said:
“We are delighted with the sale to the new owners, who we believe will look after the building and staff. We would like to thank Tom O’Malley at Christie & Co who was able to find a credible buyer confidentially.”
Tom O’Malley, Associate Director at Christie & Co, added:
“Alma Lodge Hotel is a well-established hospitality venue offering accommodation, event hosting, and a welcoming environment for both leisure and business guests. The hotel has long served as a trusted destination for corporate stays, celebrations, and family occasions, with its accessibility and community presence making it a familiar and respected name locally.
“We are delighted to see Corner Stone Group acquire the hotel and wish them all the best with their latest venture.”
