The Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport, Councillor Andrew Verdeille and Mrs Cleo Cundall, came to see the vehicles themselves.
The vehicles, Black Peugeot iOn’s, need just six hours on their charging units to then power up for approximately 80 miles.
Councillor Andrew Verdeille said: “These are fantastic to see. They are a real sign of what the future will be and how we can become a greener community. A great achievement for all involved. We await with interest to see the feedback of this pilot.”
Stephen Morris, Managing Director of Solutions SK, said: “Solutions SK champion environmental projects within the Borough and are proud of our role in projects such as this.
“We recycle our waste and look after our parks; electric vehicles are an obvious extension of our work to contribute to an eco-friendly Stockport. This initiative was really exciting for our team to work on and we look forward to seeing how this pilot scheme develops within the Council.”
