Having overturned a 1-0 deficit to beat Salford on penalties at Edgeley Park on Saturday 20th May, Stockport County will be heading to Wembley Stadium to face Carlisle United in the League Two play-off final.
The Hatters’ dramatic win against Salford took place in front of a sold-out crowd at Edgeley Park, securing the remaining League Two promotion spot in the club’s first season since returning to the Football League. The win sees Stockport County return to Wembley for the first time since 2008.
The final is set to be played on Sunday 28th May, in a 1.30pm kick-off at Wembley, with tickets going on sale on Tuesday 23rd May.
Stockport County have received a full allocation of up to 39,415 tickets in Wembley Stadium’s East Stand for the final.
Season ticket holders will be granted an initial priority window from 10am-2pm to purchase before then going on general sale. Due to the tight turnaround before the match on Sunday, all tickets will be sold online via a third-party and not from the Ticket Office, although staff will be on hand to assist with anyone struggling to purchase their tickets. Further details of ticket sales can be found on the Stockport County website.
A win at Wembley on Sunday would see Stockport County promoted for the second time in two years, and bring the club one step closer towards achieving its ambition seven-year plant, set by the club’s owner, Mark Stott, to return the Hatters to the Championship.
