Stockport County Community Trust reaches 6,000 children through Together Schools Programme

Stockport County Community Trust has completed a successful year of its Together Schools Programme across primary and secondary schools in the borough.

Delivered with the support of Together Money, the programme provides free educational workshops to engage thousands of young people at no additional cost to schools. During the 2025/26 academic year, the programme was delivered in 76 of Stockport’s 81 primary schools and 11 of its 14 secondary schools, reaching a record 6,000 pupils.

 Toby Green, Schools Coordinator at the trust, said:  

“Reaching 6,000 young people through the Together Schools Programme this year is a fantastic milestone and something everyone at Stockport County Community Trust is incredibly proud of. We’re especially grateful to Together Money, whose continued support has ensured we can deliver this programme completely free of charge to schools across Stockport, removing barriers and allowing more children to benefit from these opportunities. 

“We’d like to thank all of the schools that have welcomed us this year, and we’re excited to continue to reach even more children in the years ahead.” 

For primary school children, programmes include a a Creative Art Programme for Year 3 and 4 classes, the Start Well programme to support Year 4 pupils to lead healthy lifestyles, and for Year 5 and 6 classes, a choice of programmes include: numeracy and finance, mental health and wellbeing, e-safety and social media, Stockport and its history, and literacy.

In secondary schools, the Trust delivers The County Award, a 12-week programme that delivers personal development workshops and sports leadership sessions for young people who may otherwise find it difficult to engage in lessons. It also delivers a 6-week Aspire Programme for high-achieving Year 9 students, and next year will introduce a new Transition Programme to help Year 7s with the step up to high school.
