Stockport businesses are being given direct, one to one access to global market entry experts as part of a new support initiative designed to help them tap into billions of pounds worth of export opportunities.
Delivered by GM Business Growth Hub in partnership with the Department for Business and Trade (DBT), Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) and Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC), the Meet the Market Expert series will provide practical, tailored support for businesses looking to enter or expand in international markets.
The initiative comes at a time when UK businesses are navigating increasing complexity in global trade, despite significant growth potential across key markets. The European market alone represents an estimated $101 billion in unrealised export opportunities for UK businesses, while major economies such as the United States, China and India continue to offer substantial scope for expansion.
Unlike traditional workshops or webinars, the Meet the Market Expert series is built around focused, 25-minute one?to?one support sessions, giving Stockport businesses businesses the opportunity to speak directly with market entry experts specialising in export markets to specific global regions. Each session is designed to provide practical, in-market insight, covering everything from entry strategies and regulatory considerations to identifying commercial opportunities.
Taking place throughout July, each session will focus on a different region, including Europe and Oceania, the Americas, and Asia and the Middle East. Businesses will be able to review the full line?up of experts in advance and register their interest to be matched with the most relevant specialist for their growth ambitions.
The series reflects the increasing need for businesses to access targeted, expert-led support when expanding internationally, particularly in markets where local knowledge and experience can significantly reduce risk and accelerate growth.
The sessions are open to Stockport-based businesses at all stages of their export journey, from those exploring new markets for the first time to those looking to expand their international footprint.
Places are limited, with businesses invited to submit an expression of interest to secure a session with the most relevant expert. For more information or to register interest, visit the programme’s Eventbrite page.
