
A West Yorkshire-based social enterprise, Locala Health and Wellbeing, will provide sexual health services in Stockport and Tameside following a new contract award by the boroughs’ respective councils.
Locala Health and Wellbeing, a member owned and not-for-profit social enterprise, will take over the running of Stockport’s Choices Centre, and sexual health clinics offering face-to-face and telephone appointments. The organisation has over 10 years experience providing sexual health and other services in West Yorkshire, with the contract with Stockport and Tameside Council’s being their first on this side of the Pennines.
Locala will also being their focus on developing and supporting community health initiatives to the borough.
Jennifer Connolly, Director of Public Health, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council said:
“Locala Health and Wellbeing is an important new provider for Stockport. They bring expertise in providing sexual health services, as well as innovation, flexibility, and the ethos of community support and development.”
