Robinsons Brewery have launched their first limited edition seasonal ale of 2016, Red Jester; available throughout February and March.
Inspired by the Harlequin jester of medieval history, folk law and legend, Red Jester is a lively 3.9% ABV premium ruby red ale with a distinctive blackcurrant flavour born from the new-fangled UK hop variety Jester. Boasting the bold, punchy and citrus flavours that are so predominant in the US and New World hops, Jester is a unique hop with a flavour profile all of its own.
Balanced by the bitterness of Target hops, this rich, full bodied beer has a predominantly strong hop palate and a great balance of biscuit malt and caramelised toffee flavours.
“We’re really proud of this ale and our entire 2016 range” said Gill Yates, Brands Manager for Robinsons Brewery. “We’ve listened to our drinkers and worked hard on creating a series of seasonal beers that will capture the imagination as well as the taste buds. Red Jester is testament to that. Don’t be fooled by the 3.9% ABV, Red Jester seriously delivers when it comes to flavour.”

Red Jester marks the first of five limited edition ales that the Stockport brewer will release in 2016 following a 17% volume increase from the preceding 2015 seasonal range.
“2015 was a great year for our seasonal ales,” continued Gill, “but we think 2016 could be one of our biggest years to date. The cask ale market has exploded over the past 3 years with countless innovative beers coming from the hundreds of brewers and micro-breweries in the UK. It’s all about giving choice, great standout on the bar and most importantly flavour. We feel this year’s seasonal offering can stand tall in a crowded market.”
Throughout February and March, Robinsons seasonal ale Red Jester is available nationally via listings with Heineken, Enterprise Inns Carlsberg and Molson Coors and regionally via select Robinsons’ pubs across the North West, Cumbria and North Wales.
