Stockport family brewery, Robinsons, has re-opened The Queens Head in Hawkshead in the heart of the Lake District following a substantial refurbishment.
Work completed included a refresh of the pub’s 16 guest bedrooms, alongside the makeover for the pub, following a significant investment of capital into improvements for site. The Queens Head is part of Robinsons’ Individual Inns pub collection which includes six pubs acquired by the brewery in 2019.

The listed pub maintains its warm feeling with low ceilings, exposed beams and its cosy corners but now boasts a brighter look with lighter wooden features. It was important to the brewers to maintain the heritage of the pub and the investment team worked closely with the listed building offices to ensure they preserved the history of the pub.
Being in the centre of the Lake District, the design team have taken inspiration from iconic names in the area such as William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter in the pub décor.

The Queens Head’s new bedrooms offer a space to unwind in and enjoy a night of peace in the tranquillity of the Lakes. Each room takes inspiration from local nature with botanical wall papers, warm tones and rustic oak woodwork for that traditional farmhouse feel.
