Cheadle based firm, Short Construction, has reported a record-breaking financial year for the business and exceeded its target to reach more than £21 million in turnover in 2025.
The business marked its 15th anniversary in 2025, coupling a rise in project activity with strategic team growth. Entering its new financial year with a very active pipeline, the company aims to achieve £40 million per annum by 2030.
Over the past year, managing director Adrian Short has strengthened his team across all departments including two key promotions to the senior management team – Daniel Van Den Bos to Operations Director and Ben Donafee to Commercial Director. Adrian Short commented:
“Throughout last year, we focused on growing the team and building a robust order book for 2026.
“Our attention is now on maintaining this positive momentum, with proactive business development to take us into 2027 and beyond. We’re also investing in new digital marketing strategies that reflect our company ambitions. With such a capable and determined team in place, I’m confident we will continue to strengthen our presence across the region.”
Short Construction operates across the North West and is currently onsite delivering several large-scale projects including 72 units at Daisy Bank Park in South Manchester for developer, Britannia Group. A further 45 apartments are also underway for the developer at Overbanks in Stockport town centre, part of the regeneration of the town’s former Probation Centre.
Nick Carter, Head of Development at Britannia Group commented:
“Short Construction is an excellent partner, demonstrating strong communication, quality workmanship and a collaborative approach to every project. The team are expecting to deliver Daisy Bank Park ahead of schedule which is hugely impressive. This, coupled with their diligent work at Overbanks reflects Short Construction’s ability to handle complex projects with professionalism and care. We value our relationship with the team and look forward to working together on future developments.”
Within the commercial and healthcare sectors, Short Construction has also recently delivered projects for clients including Voyage Care, Parti/ARC, Barchester Healthcare, Kids Planet, August Blake, and Becker Industrial Coatings.
Short Construction Managing Director, Adrian Short, added:
“We have an array of projects onsite with values between £3M and £13M. As a Cheadle based team we take great pride in delivering local schemes, whether it be bespoke houses or complex multi-unit developments. All are all contributing to the ongoing investment and regeneration of our region and, while the construction sector has its challenges, it is hugely rewarding to step back and appreciate the projects we have delivered.”
