
Nominations have opened for the GM Skills Awards 2025, organised in partnership by the Greater Manchester Learning Providers Network (GMLPN) and Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC).
Sponsored by Bud, the GM Skills Awards 2025 aim to celebrate excellence in the Further Education (FE) and Skills Sector across Greater Manchester. The event brings together industry leaders, educators, employers, learners and apprentices to celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions to the FE and Skills Sector.
Nominations are open across 12 categories to highlight learners, training providers and employers for their commitment to skills development and training. Categories for the awards include:
- Apprentice of the Year (levels 2-3), sponsored by Trafford & Stockport College Group
- Apprentice of the Year (levels 4-7), sponsored by City & Guilds
- 16-19 Learner of the Year, sponsored by Gateway Qualifications
- Adult Learner of the Year, sponsored by NCFE
- Shining Star of the Year, sponsored by NQual Ltd
- Unsung Hero of the Year, sponsored by Mesma
- Team of the Year, sponsored by Bud Systems
- SME of the Year, sponsored by Rochdale Training
- Large Employer of the Year, sponsored by Pearson
- Community Initiative of the Year, sponsored by Manchester: A UNESCO City of Lifelong Learning (Manchester City Council)
- Outstanding Innovation of the Year, sponsored by Coyne Recruitment
- Partnership Project of the Year, sponsored by The Growth Company
Nominations close on 28th February. The inaugural GM Skills Awards ceremony will take place on the 3rd July 2025, at The Manchester Monastery where the winners will be announced.
