Merseyway Innovation Centre will host Pioneers in XR for an exploration of how extended reality (XR) technology could shape future business innovation.
The Stockport business community is invited to hear from industry speakers at the town centre business hub on 5th December from 6-8pm. Presenters will include Adam Dickinson from cognitive sports trainer ‘Rezzil’; Dr Maria Stukoff from the University of Salford’s maker space; Lee Englestone from Intrepid Futures; Caroline White, a consultant working in XR and future facing technologies, including Immerse UK; and Keith Myers, a XR consultant from AVimmerse, focused on MedTech training and a passion for heritage. Refreshments and light bites will also be provided by the Merseyway Innovation Centre.
The evening’s agenda will include:
- 18:00 Welcome by Rob Kates, Centre Manager, Oxford Innovation Space, Stockport
- 18:10 Dr. Maria Stukoff – chairs the sessions, and will provide a brief overview of the University of Salford’s XR projects.
- 18:20 Keith Myers – will follow by presenting case studies showcasing the use of XR technology in various sectors, including training, medical projects, and heritage.
- 18:40 Adam Dickinson – takes us through his work using XR for games and sports performance and how XR leveraged their business.
- 19:20 Caroline White – explores regional opportunities for XR innovation in the North West, drawing on her work with the MediaCity Immersive Technologies Innovation Hub and XR Stories to showcase creative pathways.
- 19:00 Lee Englestone – will discuss how immersive technology can spark innovation, new business ideas, and his XR journey.
- 19:40 Q&A & Networking
- 20:15 Closing and heading to the White Lion for those who would like to continue the discussion.
