Mastercall Healthcare, the Stockport-based social enterprise providing NHS services across the city-region, has become a member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.
The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter is a voluntary membership and assessment scheme designed to elevate employment standards across the region. It focuses on seven key characteristics of good employment: secure work, flexible work, fair pay, employee engagement and voice, excellent recruitment practices, effective people management, and health and wellbeing. By becoming a member, Mastercall Healthcare demonstrates its adherence to these principles, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace.
The organisation’s new affiliation with the Good Employment Charter reflects an ongoing commitment to not only providing exceptional healthcare services but also ensuring a thriving and productive environment for its employees. As a member of the Charter, Mastercall Healthcare will continue to champion best practices in employment going forward, contributing to the broader goal of a prosperous and equitable Greater Manchester.
Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester and who launched the Charter in 2019, told Mastercall:
“Congratulations on becoming a Member of the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter. An initiative of this kind is made impactful by the uptake and commitment from employers like yourself. Together, we are making a difference to the lives of people in Greater Manchester.
“I recognise the hard work and determination that went into addressing all the characteristics of good employment within your organisation, and the continual work of elevating your standards in these areas. Becoming a Member of the Charter is an accomplishment that you should be proud of. Your practices, which exceed in all characteristics of good employment, are what sets you apart as an employer.
“I want to recognise and thank you for your commitment to the good employment movement and helping to make our city-region fairer and more prosperous.”
Michaela Buck, CEO of Mastercall Healthcare, said:
“Becoming a Charter member is a huge honour for Mastercall. We are delighted to be recognised for the commitment we have made to our colleagues and for the continued investment in ongoing development of best practice at work.
“We are proud of our strong company ethos and values that align with the seven Good Employment Charter characteristics. Ensuring our team are fairly treated, valued and cared for at work enables them to continue to deliver the best possible care to our patients.
We are thrilled to be able to collaborate with Charter colleagues to support continuous growth and development of best working practices for Mastercall and across Greater Manchester.“
