Marketing Stockport’s neighbour at Pepper House is among local businesses who are offering support for a new warehouse distribution centre on Bankfield Trading Estate in Reddish for St Ann’s Hospice which opens in September.
Stockport-based Eastward International Logistics has given hospice staff based at the new site hi-vis jackets, loaned a cherry picker to install a fire alarm and arranged for plumbing work.
Manager Director Sean Byrne said:
“I saw an appeal for help on Facebook from a friend who works at the hospice and we’re delighted to support such a great cause in any way we can.”
The site will be used to store goods donated to the charity’s highly-successful Trading Company, which has 14 shops across Greater Manchester and operates a lottery, and has enjoyed its second best financial year, reporting a £914,000 profit.
Trading Company’s Area Manager Sarah Thomas said:
“It’s the first time we’ll have had a proper warehouse and we’ve been running out of space. We’ve had a great year financially, especially with online sales developing, and our revenue goes towards caring for patients.
“We’d like to thank Sean and Eastward International Logistics for their generous help and anyone else who might be able to assist the hospice is asked to get in touch.”
