Local employers, education providers and charities are invited to an upcoming Your Futures event at Stockport College, organised by Stockport Pledge in partnership with Stockport Council.
The Pledge Partnership enables businesses to work together with educators to provide every young person living, studying and/or working in Stockport with everything they need to succeed in the world of work. With the opportunity to develop employability-related skills and personal qualities whilst in education, there is a choice of employment, training or further education when they leave school. This project is part-funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The Your Futures SEND Fair event is aimed at students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) with an Educational Health and Care Plan and/or additional needs, as well as young people who are, or at risk of becoming, Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
Hosted on Tuesday, 18th November at Stockport College, the fair will follow the format of traditional careers fairs, with local secondary schools, colleges and Special Schools invited to attend particular slots during the day for students to meet employers and engage in activities. The event will also be open to parents and carers, along with their young person from 3.30pm to 5.30pm.
Parking will be available on the day, and refreshments and lunch will also be provided for all exhibitors, with set-up from 9am.
Stockport employers can take part by registering via Eventbrite using this link, or by scanning the QR code in the image below.
