Stockport’s Life Leisure has launched a new campaign, ‘The Power to Glow’, inspired by International Women’s Day.
This campaign is all about empowering women and girls to feel strong, confident, and proud to be active. Power to Glow captures a dual message:
- Power to Grow — empowering women to grow in strength and confidence, and also helping others to understand and respect the issues that women face.
- Glow — promoting overall wellbeing, health, happiness, and confidence. When you look after yourself both mentally and physically, you’ll glow, becoming a happier and healthier version of yourself.
To mark the start of the campaign, Life Leisure have published a blog post outlining the evolution of female fitness over the last 100 years, which explores how opportunities, attitudes and activities for women have changed.
A very special campaign activity is also planned in Merseyway on Sunday 8th March around 1.00pm that will bring the message to life in a surprising and energetic way. While Life Leisure are keeping the details under wraps for now, they have revealed it’s designed to celebrate movement, showcase community spirit, and generate excitement around the Power to Glow message.
To further complement the Power to Glow campaign, Life Leisure is also launching a competition on our Facebook and Instagram pages where two lucky winners will each receive a place on our next women’s weightlifting course. Keep an eye on the organisation’s socials on Sunday 8th March to get yourself in the draw.
