Robinsons Brewery has reopened a Hazel Grove pub after an 8-week refurbishment project, costing £200,000.
The Grapes, purchased by Robinsons Brewery in 1949, is currently run by licensee Susan White.
The refurbishment has opened up the layout of the interior, which now also features a new stage for live music and entertainment. Its two bar areas have now been combined into a single, solid-oak central bar, serving the Stockport brewery’s own cask ales, as well as an enhanced range of lagers wines and spirits.

The Grapes has been well received by old and new customers. The whole pub has been opened up so that consumers can enjoy our entertainment and be at the bar without being segregated to certain areas. We offer a large range of cask, keg and spirits, so we have something for everyone.”

The site was in need of a new lease of life, so we have modernised sections and features of the pub, yet retained its traditional and cosy feel, which customers have always appreciated.”
The Hazel Grove pub is renowned for its entertainment, its new stage will host live bands on the first Saturday of every month. While the new interior is largely open plan, a separate room has been kept to house The Grapes’ pool table.
The pub has been furnished with new leather seating, timber flooring and floral wallpaper on focal walls. New features include a gas stove for colder evenings, and LED lighting and antique mirrors to vary the ambience throughout the day.
Furniture in the pub has been replaced with brand new leather seating. 
The pub now boasts wooden floors throughout and a gas fireplace. 
A private room houses The Grapes’ pool table. 
The solid-oak bar now forms the focal point of the pub’s new open layout. 
The pub’s beer garden has also had a makeover, ready for the summer .
Externally, the Hazel Grove pub has been renovated with brand new signage in line with Robinsons brand guidelines, and features new universal level access at the front of the pub together with a new accessible toilet inside. The beer garden has been decorated with stunning new wooden fencing and furniture ready for the summer months.
The Grapes, which has been awarded the Casque Marque Accreditation for two years running, is open daily. Further information about the Hazel Grove pub’s new look can be found the pub’s website.
