Stockport-based solicitor, Gorvins LLP, has led on the recent acquisition of family-run schoolwear manufacturer William Turner by the UK’s leading uniform and sportswear specialist, Banner.
The third-generation family business, William Turner, has its head office in Stockport, as well as factories in Skipton, Yorkshire, and Neslon, Lancashire. Established in 1969 and specialising in supplying school ties and schoolwear accessories, the business will continue to operate as a trading division of Banner as the company approaches its busiest trading period in the run-up to the new school year in September.
The family-run manufacturer’s acquisition by Banner was announced earlier this summer. William Turner Managing Director, Daniel Turner said:
“My grandfather, father, brother and I, along with our outstanding team, have sought to build a business based on service, quality and trust for more than 50 years. Joining forces with Banner is a significant milestone in the William Turner journey and will further strengthen our customer offering and service.”
Gorvins LLP acted as solicitors for the acquisition deal. The Gorvins team, led by Corporate Commercial Partner, Christian Mancier, included Senior Associate, Rowan Uren and Trainee Solicitor, Chloe Murphy in the commercial team, Commercial Property Partner, Amanda Porter and Partner and Head of Employment, David Rogers.
Christian Mancier, Corporate Commercial Partner at Gorvins said:
“As a family-run business with strong relationships with its customers, it was important for William Turner to find a business that shared its values and vision, and this is achieved with the acquisition by Banner.
“We’ve worked closely with William Turner for years and have always admired the balance of embracing the company’s rich heritage and continually striving to improve the business for future generations.”
