
Following publication of the Government’s Schools White Paper and details of SEND reforms, Stockport-based GMT is launching a dedicated support offer to help schools meet the needs of neurodivergent pupils.
The white paper, published in February 2026, indicates a clear direction that schools will need to adapt to teach children with a higher level of need. With SEND reform progressing, many schools are seeking practical, inclusive ways to support pupils with additional needs in everyday classroom environments.
GMT work alongside school staff to develop neurodiversity?affirming, clinically informed approaches that enhance the experience of both pupils and the adults who support them.
GMT’s SEND support package focuses on:
- Understanding each pupil’s profile of strengths and needs within their real classroom context;
- Shaping environments that reduce stress, increase regulation, and promote meaningful engagement;
- Exploring current classroom situations and offering practical, evidence?informed strategies that can be implemented immediately;
- Integrating lived experience, clinical insight, and robust evidence to guide decision?making; and
- Strengthening early, inclusive support so pupils can thrive before challenges escalate.
GMT’s approach prioritises adapting the environment, expectations, and responses, ensuring all pupils can access learning, feel understood, and experience genuine belonging. They also focus on building staff confidence and wellbeing, equipping teams with tools that make classrooms more supportive for everyone.
