It seem’s Stockport has a taste for Gin! Following the first event in April, the Gin Jamboree is to return in September.
The first sell-out Gin Jamboree brought more than 400 people together at Stockport Town Hall.
Gin enthusiasts had the opportunity to sample more than 100 spirits from the best distilleries around the world, with a variety of tonics and garnish combinations to create a perfect G&T or cocktail.

Gin Jamboree back in Stockport
Snacks and a Louisiana-style Jambalaya supper were served and guests took home their own gin ‘goldfish bowl’ glass. Music kept the night entertaining and sociable for everyone.
Due to the high demand for the gin festival, organisers have announced two more events at the Town Hall on 22nd and 23rd September 2017.
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said:
“It’s great to see our historic Town Hall hosting varied and interesting events such as the Gin Jamboree.
“Craft gin production is enjoying a renaissance at the moment. The Town Hall provides the perfect backdrop for the connoisseurs and the curious to enjoy sampling the growing varieties available.
“If you are interested in sampling quality gin in a unique setting, put the next event in September in your diaries and book ahead.”
Organiser Andrew Wilson said:
“We had a really good day at Stockport Town Hall with 450 gin lovers united under one roof. There was a cross section of gin lovers at the event from people in their twenties right up to people in their eighties.
“We have a saying that there is a gin out there for everyone, and that’s what we wanted people to find. I was amazed at how enthusiastic and knowledgable the people of Stockport were about gin.”
Stockport’s Gin Jamboree returns on Friday 22nd September and Saturday 23rd September from 6:30pm to 11:30pm. Tickets cost £15, including supper and a gin ‘goldfish bowl’ glass to take home.
