
Stockport businesses are being invited to take part in a series of workshops to learn how they can support colleagues to engage with physical activity in the workplace.
In September and October GM Moving partners will be launching a series of free events which will explore key aspects of Active Workplaces and how we can all play are part in moving more while we work. The first workshop is on 14th September and focuses on how to make physical activity the norm at work.
Over one million adults are in employment in Greater Manchester, 24.9% of whom are inactive, and with 60% of their waking hours at work for many, over 50% of their day is sedentary: this inactivity is a real cause for concern. Sessions will focus on themes of ensuring leadership buy-in for moving more at work, understanding what kinds of activity count, and including movement in workplace health and wellbeing plans.
