
Flash floods hit the Stockport areas of Hazel Grove and Disley over the weekend as rivers swelled and burst their banks.
Fire crews used a blue bin to rescue a lady from premises on Bridge Lane at the roundabout near Bramhall Park where the NISA shop was flooded along with the funeral directors next door. The event was captured on and shared on Twitter and shared in the Manchester Evening News
A landslide on the rail track at Middlewood, just outside Disley has caused the suspension of trains between Buxton and Hazel Grove where a replacement bus service will operate until Monday 20th June, according to a spokesperson from Stockport Council.
Students who travel from the High Peak area to Stockport Grammar and Aquinas College can expect disruption.
Homes in parts of Offerton were without power and some residents had to leave their homes until the water subsided.
