Stockport-based utilities company, OCU Group, has doubled its space at Tandem Investment’s STOK office space in the town centre, which is now 97% let.
OCU Group has signed a 10-year lease on 14,900 sq ft at the scheme, more than doubling its footprint in the converted M&S store where it previously occupied 6,300 sq ft, and adding to its head office on Greek Street. This latest deal comes alongside new leases for Sedrow and Worldwide Hole’n One of less than 1,000 sq ft, and Biffa Waste Services also taking on additional space.
Work has now completed on the ground, first and second floors of the space, which have seen the former retail space converted into 40,000 sq ft of ‘plug-and-play’ flexible offices as part of Tandem Investments’ 1 million sq ft commercial property portfolio. The next phase of development at STOK will see the 19,700 sq ft basement of the unit made suitable for leisure, wellness or commerical use.
Chloe Ellerby, project director at Tandem, said:
“It is especially encouraging to see existing occupiers, such as OCU, continue to expand within the building, reflecting the strength of the occupier experience and the thriving community we have created,” she said.
“The continued growth of this community, combined with the momentum we are seeing in Stockport, has firmly established STOK as a destination for office space outside the city centre.”
Tandem Investments director, Richard Rees added:
“This continued investment from occupiers is the strongest endorsement of what we have created at STOK.”
